National Policy Dialogue on Adaptation to Climate
Change on 10-11 November, 2008 at Teen Murti House,New Delhi
The overall objective of the proposed National Dialogue is to exchange experiences made and lessons learnt so far in the area of adaptation, with the view to contribute to policy development processes at the national level, in terms of evolving a National Adaptation Framework and in providing crucial inputs to the proposed National Missions under the National Action Plan for Climate Change together with other Indian and Swiss organizations, in the States of Andhra Pradesh and Rajasthan on an innovative pilot project designed to assess vulnerability of communities and impact of climate change in semi-arid areas. Dr. N. Sai Bhaskar Reddy contributed to this project as "Lead Consultant" for the Andhra Pradesh State. His innovations / contributions in the areas of Rural Energy - Introduction of Good Stoves (two pots) Avan Series to villagers in two project villages and one primary school for mid day meals , Reclamation of alkaline soils through innovative soil amend methodology developed, using charcoal, sand, gypsum, etc,, and the intensive awareness campaign and capacity building of the communities in the two villages are the remarkable achievements. All the above aspects were exhibited as posters, film and presentations in the two day event.
